Our Voices, Our Stories: Adoptees Creating Connections
Ever get comments or questions about your adoption that make you pause? In this workshop, teens will create powerful POV (Point of View) responses to those questions and comments in ways that are meaningful to them.
Whether you want to be serious, educational, or humorous, this workshop gives you the tools to express yourself authentically and creatively. From tackling tough questions like “Do you know your real parents?” to addressing common misconceptions, like “You should only be grateful to be adopted” you’ll explore how to share your unique experiences in engaging and impactful ways.
This workshop isn’t just about self-expression—it’s also about connection! You’ll have the chance to meet other teens who are adopted, exchange stories, and build a supportive community that understands your journey. Together, we’ll create a space where your voice is heard and your story can inspire others.
By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with a meaningful reflection that inspires understanding and strengthens your connection to a vibrant community of peers.
Get ready to share your story in ways that inform, entertain, and empower—and create lasting connections along the way!

Explore Themes of Adoption Identity
Through a mix of mediums, adoptees will begin to engage with their adoption identity and how/when to share their story authentically. Teens will have opportunities to work in small groups and individually to create and explore their narrative and how to express it while also sharing a meal and connecting with their peers.
